About Workstands A bicycle workstand is a great investment, they hold your bike securely leaving both hands free to work. They hold the bike above the floor and can usually be adjusted in height and angle, this means you can reach those awkward parts and rotate the wheels, cranks and clean or adjust gears and brakes at will. Most workstands have a ’jaw’ which clamps around the bike, we suggest clamping at the seatpost as this is usually a thicker material than the frame and less prone to damage.
About the Elite brand Elite have been manufacturers of cycling trainers, workstands and bottle cages. Elite were born at the end of the 1970s as builders of rollers for bike training and bike racks for cars. Elite entered the bicycle market as a company with the ability to interpret the needs ofthe bicycle market sector by creating modern and original products. In 1984, Elite was the first company in Europe to create and produce a roller with a posterior supporting stand, putting a milestone on the road of the development of this component. The bottle holder "Macan", which was introduced in 1987, revolutionised the basic concept of this accessory, with the introduction of new elements like for example the plastic covered head, to hold the bottle in place more firmly, or like the adjustable runners for the screws which fix things to the frame. Little by little, thanks to this continuous feeling for innovation and research, the bottle holder has also evolved: the "Ciussi" model with its characteristic anti-vibration side buttons, and the innovative "Patao" with its futuristic design are the most evident fruits of this Italian Based company

Great Workstand
SimonG, Canberra
Bought this on special and what a deal! I was surprised by how good the quality is given how cheap it was. Easy to put together and even easier to use. Holds a heavy bike comfortably. Makes tinkering so much easier. Don't know how I survived so long without one.

great, until it broke
RosaCoutts, Nelson
Had this stand for about 8 months, great. Could sometimes be unbalanced by the bike on the stand and fall forwards, but if careful ok. Then the quick release type mechanism which closes the clamp completely failed and the plastic broke, the clamp flicked open and I lost the washers! Now I use a quick hand clamp to attach the clamp to the bike. I would now spend real money to get a strong real bike stand. This was great, when it worked. Torpedo 7 service was great as always, just a bit disappointing the quality of the products isn't always up to the same standard.

It just works!
TristanY, WEST PENNANT HILLS
Solid, stable, and does the job as expected! A little ikea work is required to put it together initially - a phillips head screwdriver and spanner. A bargain when on discount. Ordered Thursday, and delivered from NZ into Sydney on Monday!

Surprising quality!
MikeCooney, Whangamata
Wasn't too sure what to expect with little info on the web about this stand. Anyway, took a punt and bought it and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. It's heavy duty and well made - and best of all, holds my 18kg downhill bike easily (by the seat post). The clamp seems study enough with plenty of adjustment. Definitely worth the money - esp when on special!
