Torpedo7 engineers have come up with another winning solution with the innovative Torpedo7 4WD 2 Bike Rack, targeted to the lifestyles of the SUV drivers and 4x4 Vehicles. the rack moves with the door, not restricting access to the cargo area.

Through clever design and relentless testing the Torpedo7 4WD 2 bike rack is especially designed to fit on the back of most door mounted spare wheel carrying 4WDs.

It simply Straps onto a 4WD spare tyre Adjusts to fit any tyre sizes from 14" to 20", from 190mm to 300mm wide. You can fold the rack up out of the way when not in use, without any tools,

It accepts a variety of bike types or frame designs. You simply rest your bikes frame over the foam covered bars, and secure with the straps provided. (Includes lockable fastening knobs and securing straps) It is however recommended to also use a bungee or bike inner tube to prevent the bikes from swinging when driving.

The thick high density foam-rubber coating the racks tubing prevents wearing or damage to your bikes finish when in use. The large diameter of the foam prevents damage from pressure spots for when carrying light-weight aluminium or carbon fibre frames.

TORPEDO7 4WD 2 Bike Rack 2.5 5 2 2
initially good, but all screws and knobs had a very small life span The hand tighteners have all failed due to cross threading I got less than one summer of use from it. . I have had to purchase long screws with wingnuts to keep the thing functional, but is not ideal as I need a wrench every time I want to put the bars down. Also, the whole unit constantly starts rotating around the back tyre when its under load and I am driving in any kind of rough terrain. Again, I have had to "Mickey Mouse" something to keep it from doing this. 1 July 2012
Impressed Very impressed with how easy it is to fit. Seems very well made for the price. 1 April 2011

Answer:
I own a '98 Prado and this rack works a treat! Large mountain bike sits nice and central (no overhang out the sides). Also sits at a good height so maintains good clearance. Would recommend this product for Prado owners. Cheers.

I have just bought a really nice Bauer road bike, in order to get fit and plan for th Otago Rail Ride. I need however to be able to carry my bike to various venues and do NOT have a tow bar. My car is a Daihatsu Terios 2003 model . Can you advise me please.
