Torpedo7 engineers have come up with another winning solution with the innovative Torpedo7 4WD 2 Bike Rack, targeted to the lifestyles of the SUV drivers and 4x4 Vehicles. the rack moves with the door, not restricting access to the cargo area.

Through clever design and relentless testing the Torpedo7 4WD 2 bike rack is especially designed to fit on the back of most door mounted spare wheel carrying 4WDs.

It simply Straps onto a 4WD spare tyre Adjusts to fit any tyre sizes from 14" to 20", from 190mm to 300mm wide. You can fold the rack up out of the way when not in use, without any tools,

It accepts a variety of bike types or frame designs. You simply rest your bikes frame over the foam covered bars, and secure with the straps provided. (Includes lockable fastening knobs and securing straps) It is however recommended to also use a bungee or bike inner tube to prevent the bikes from swinging when driving.

The thick high density foam-rubber coating the racks tubing prevents wearing or damage to your bikes finish when in use. The large diameter of the foam prevents damage from pressure spots for when carrying light-weight aluminium or carbon fibre frames.

Specifications

  • Carries up to 2 bikes.
  • Includes lockable fastening knobs and securing straps
  • Frame folds to 90 degrees encasing spare tyre.
  • Width of extension bars: 440mm x 580mm wide approx.
  • Diameter of  tube: 25 mm
  • Maximum Weight capacity: 30kgs

4WD 2 Bike Rack 3.7 5 6 6
Fits the Land Rover perfectly I am really happy with this rack. Pleasantly surprised with the build quality and very easy to put on and take off. 6 October 2014
Ok for the $ Easy to use. Good for 2 bikes Only problem I have found is it can slide around the tire a little when using offroad/on bumpy roads. Balancing the bikes a bit helps this. Don't muck around with the screws, just set it up once and take it on/off as needed and it's no worries. 28 June 2014
This product is easy to use. This is the only option if you are also towing. It is strong and safe but definitely ONLY two bikes! We stripped the thread with three. 13 February 2014
Very handy product I've had this for past 3 years, super convenient as can still open the boot. Extremely easy to use and I leave it hanging on my Pajero all year around so it's easy to just to put my bike on it whenever I like. Takes less than 1 minute. There are 2 screws which you use to tighten on/off & these can cross thread if you over tighten or if they get too dry. So as long as you put a drop of chain oil (or grease) on it every now and again it stops it cross threading. Is only good for 1 heavy mountain bike or 2 road bikes. 24 August 2013
initially good, but all screws and knobs had a very small life span The hand tighteners have all failed due to cross threading I got less than one summer of use from it. . I have had to purchase long screws with wingnuts to keep the thing functional, but is not ideal as I need a wrench every time I want to put the bars down. Also, the whole unit constantly starts rotating around the back tyre when its under load and I am driving in any kind of rough terrain. Again, I have had to "Mickey Mouse" something to keep it from doing this. 1 July 2012
Impressed Very impressed with how easy it is to fit. Seems very well made for the price. 1 April 2011

Hi, Due to the flex and width of the plastic cover, this type of rack will not work unless you remove the plastic from the spare wheel, Thanks

Answer:
Hi,
Yes this rack will fit 2 standard road bikes easily.
As far as the rack moving, if it's going to be left on the vehicle or in salty environmentsI would suggest some lubrication of the moving parts every now and again to allow the tightening screws to keep moving freely.
Hope this helps.

Answer:
I own a '98 Prado and this rack works a treat! Large mountain bike sits nice and central (no overhang out the sides). Also sits at a good height so maintains good clearance. Would recommend this product for Prado owners. Cheers.
