TRANZX Indoor Trainer - JD111
$229.99
TRANZX is a manufacturer of high end bike components, and produces a range of quality indoor trainers.
The JD111 indoor trainer uses Magnetic resistance allowing it to be smooth and very quiet, it is a great performing, excellent value trainer for those who are serious about stationery trainers. Ideal for working out at home or warm up before a race. The resistance is adjustable via a handlebar mounted lever offering you 6 levels of resistance to recreate real cycling conditions, or levels of intensity for target training. The JD-111 indoor trainer is suitable for 26" mountain bike wheels fitted with slick tyres (wider than 26 x 1.0), and 700c & 27" road tyres. A replacement quick release skewer is included allowing you to exchange your lightweight alloy skewer and prevent it from damage when using the trainer. Features - Suitability: Fits all road and mountain bikes* (26", 700c & 28") (see notes below)
- Resistance: Extremely Powerful Maganetic, smooth and quiet
- Resistance adjustability: Handlebar mounted; Six position variable-adjust resistance lever (dia: 22.2, 25.4, 26.0 & 31.8mm)
- Construction: 6061-T6 Aluminium
- Weight: 6.9kg
- Colour: Silver
Please note: If your rear wheel is secured with a nut and not a quick release skewer then it is possible that the tyre will sit too far to the left of the roller and possibly touch the magneto housing. If this is the case you will need to space out the axle on the left side of the frame to centralise the wheel on the roller. Please contact customer services for further information. Due to the length of the bolt on the adjuster the JD111 trainer is not suitable for use with mountain bikes fotted with 26 x 1.0" slick tyres. The thread is not long enough to correctly position the resistance roller against that size tyre. It is suitable with all other MTB tyre sizes from 26 x 1.25 and larger.

Tranzx Indoor Trainer-JD111
Juliana Eu, Auckland CBD
As a novice biker, took me an hour to figure how to work the Tranzx. Instruction booklet could be better. Also had trouble with the release lever which didn't lock nor release as per instruction booklet. Called Customer Service and they were of no help other than to ask me to take it to a bike shop for a check. Thankfully bike shop solved the problem. The lever was stiff due to lack of lubrication. Thought Trainer should come in good working order. Was an inconvenience to have to take Trainer to bike shop.

Pretty good
Rhys Bailey, Palmerston North
Good quality construction for the price. Very easy to set up and mount and dismount bike. I have never used a trainer before so don't have anything to compare to but thought this made a bit of noise especially at high speed. Otherwise very happy.

I am extremely pleased with the trainer. I use the computer on my bike to check my revs, and the gears on my bike to control the work-rate. I am impressed with the workout and think that it will improve my cycling.

David-Jon Wheeler, CASHMERE -CHCH
This is the second indoor trainer I've used and I can't believe how quiet it is. I even managed a phone conversation for 20min, with the caller wondering why I was out of breath. Cheers Tranzx for a great product, cheers Torpedo7 for a great price (as always)

good solid trainer
Mark Ward, Greerton
Solid construction, but still pretty light. Nice and quiet (with slick tyres). Quieter and smoother than some more expensive trainers I tried out in the local stores.

GREAT PRICE, GREAT TRAINER
GLENYS MOY, MAIRANGI BAY
Have used this all winter and in spin class. No louder than the more expensive brands, has all the gadgets you need, certainly puts you though your paces, compact, lightweight to transport but solid construction, and most importantly easy to use. Fantasic value for money :o)

Nice
Chris Taylor, Cambridge
Yeah, it makes a bit of noise, but not as much as I thought it would and no more than a $400 trainer from another store. Certainly does the job.

Quiet & Solid
Thor R, Tawa
Nice little trainer, easy to set up. Good for testing different bike configurations. It's solid (holds up to a hammering from a big guy like me 6'4 95Kg). Nice and quiet - using it with a completely slick tyre it's almost whisper quiet. Getting a slicky for the MTB so I can throw that on and play with the set up too.

All Good
Sarah Dickson, Inglewood
First time using anything like this so don't have anything to compare it with but it seems very very good, Easy enough to set up and to get the bike in and out etc.. Seems to be very stable even when biking quiet hard. Comes with everything you need and well the price is of course great compared to others I priced in shops! Also folds up to be quite flat which I found handy for when not using it :)

Have only borrowed a trainer before. Tranx is easy to set up and seems well constructed. Resistance adjuster is good bonus for the price. Let's see how it all lasts.

Value for money
Andrew Hare, Waimate
I have used a wind trainer for years and hated it (noisy). But this trainer is almost enjoyable to use (if there is every such a thing).

pretty happy
Chris Bolstad, Hamilton
In general, buying one of the cheapest of anything means being prepared for "cheapness" but I am VERY happy with the quality of this trainer, for example, the wingnut adjuster and the tension bar are all etched, anodised, extruded aluminium, and the load adjusment lever's clamp is also alloy with clip-in bar diameter compensation spacers instead of crappy tape or rubber, VERY nice work. My frame is not square though so the bike wobbles a bit on a flat concrete floor.
