We can finally get a taste of what’s to come with the Christchurch Adventure Park. Select Evolution, the Canadian developers, have just released their first promo video which gives us a glimpse of what the park will showcase. Local riders share their opinions on what it means for Christchurch and the mountain biking community. We think it’ll mean big things for both and we can’t wait for it to open. A few facts about the Christchurch Adventure Park:

• The largest lift accessed downhill mountain bike park in the Southern Hemisphere.
• 50-year land agreement for 360 hectares, 1km from the city of Christchurch, which has over 350,000 residents;
• World’s first lift accessed downhill bike park to operate 365 days of the year;
• World’s first high speed chairlift designed and built for the purpose of transporting mountain bikers and their bikes;
• Purpose-designed and built bike trail network with over 120km of trails without restrictions on layout due to winter operations;
• Integrated non skill-based attractions included, such as zip lines and a planned mountain coaster (first in southern hemisphere);
