GRAYL Ultralight Water Purifier Bottles

GRAYL¬†hooked us up with a couple of their GRAYL Ultralight Purifier Bottles¬†to test out for ourselves, which we were super stoked about. But instead, we thought we’d pass them on to a couple of our hardcore Torpedo7 sponsored multi-sport athletes to really put them to the test!

The GRAYL Water Purifier Bottle makes safe, clean drinking water in less than 15 seconds and incorporates patented technologies that provide the ultimate protection against viruses, bacteria, chemicals, and heavy metals – anywhere you go!

Torpedo7 multi-sporters, Pete Smallfield from Wanaka and Naomi Whitehead from Nelson stepped up to the plate to take the GRAYL challenge! Overall they loved the bottles, and both say it’ll become a regular item for their backpacks. But don’t just take our word for it – check out Pete and Naomi’s reviews below…

Pete Smallfield – Torpedo7 Multi-sport athlete
I had a chance to test out the Grayl ultra-light Purifier Bottle while trail running in the hills around Dunedin in the week and boy did it live up to its name, ultra-light and pure. The bottle is simple to use, light and quick to purify and was the perfect alternative to carrying a large volume of water from the start of my run. I could simply top up at each stream I came across and knew with confidence once the Grayl ultra-light Purifier Bottle had done its thing the water would be safe to drink. This product is going to be a must pack on my next trail run, adventure race or overseas trip and at the same size as a normal drink bottle it fits easily in the bottle pocket on the outside of a pack.

Such a convenient, easy way to purify water while out & about exploring the outdoors whether it be on the local trails, remote backcountry tramping or overseas travel. Love the simplicity of the system and being ultra-light at a mere 309gm it’s easy to stash in a backpack, carry by hand or clip onto a gear loop. Good to have the option of purifying water to drink instantly as well as having a screw top lid to carry some for later! I really like having the option of replacing the filter when needed (300 uses later), rather than having to dispose of the whole bottle. The option of several bright and funky colours is a bonus. The only downside (in my opinion), is not being able to drink on the go via a sipper-top, would make it bit hard to use on a bike or during a shorter adventure race otherwise I love it!
