Formerly known as the North Face Freeski Open of NZ, The North Face Frontier took on a new lease of life in 2016 as a sanctioned 4* Freeride World Qualifier event. A dedicated freeride competition, The North Face Frontier is open to skiers and snowboarders and took place at the stunning Remarkables ski area in New Zealand’s southern alps in late August. With valuable qualifying points on offer for the Freeride World Tour, the big guns showed up and threw down in what turned out to be great conditions.
