Queenstown Mountain Bike Club Needs Your Help

Everybody’s seen or heard of the bike scene in Queenstown. From the epic singletrack network up Coronet Peak to the rowdy descents of the Queenstown Bike Park and the stately Queenstown Trail network, there’s something there for all abilities.

We’re doing everything we can to help the Queenstown Mountain Bike Club do what they do best, bringing you new mountain bike trails and events in Queenstown. The club is a non-profit organisation which relies heavily on volunteer labour to achieve everything it does and as part of their continuing their efforts to upgrade and maintain the mountain bike trails around Queenstown, the club is undertaking a study into the economic benefits that the mountain bike trails generate for the region.

It is well recognised that with better knowledge of the benefits of investment, the greater the chance of getting funding support for improvements. At the present time, the majority of work on the mountain bike trails is done by volunteers and with the significant increase in use from locals and visitors alike, further support is needed.

A key input to the economic benefits study will be data on participation in mountain bike riding particularly from those outside the local area (ie those people who travel to Queenstown, stay and ride there). We’re hoping you’ll take 5 minutes to assist in this research by completing a short online survey that will contribute data and enable a complete assessment of the economic contribution of riding to the region.

The link to the survey can be found here.

Many thanks for your time.
