SKINS DNAmic compression tights – Review by T7 Athlete, Nora Audra

“I have competed in Adventure Racing for almost 15 years and always preferred to wear tights during the races. One of the reasons is that it protects your legs from prickly bushes and the sun. Having competed in Brazil and many other tropical countries, going through thick bush was always an option and wearing long tights added some extra protection.

 I retired from Adventure racing a few years ago, but I haven’t stopped being active and enjoying the outdoors.  It became my office. I have been organising the Wicked Rogaines in Christchurch and also Adventure Racing Navigation Clinics for women keen to do the Spring Challenge. I am used to spending lots of time on the hills, setting courses and finding some cool spots for people to visit.

 Last month I was asked to try a pair of SKINS DNAmic compression tights and confess that I was surprised with the results. I didn’t think I would feel any difference from wearing it instead of a normal pair of lycra tights, but I was wrong.

 They felt great on, very light and firm on the legs. It was very comfortable to wear, and the fit was amazing. Their unique sizing system ensures a proper fit to anyone. The slightly higher waist band stops it from falling down and is an improvement from previous versions. They breath well and the fabric feels good on the skin. Dynamic gradient compression increases oxygen delivery to your muscles during a workout. They are specifically designed to wrap and support your body’s key muscle groups to help minimize vibration along with soreness and soft tissue damage that can occur after a workout. 

 They are great for training and being on the hills for 6-7hours, I felt that they reduce the muscle vibration while running, so I didn’t feel the muscle tiredness that I normally do at the end of a long session. I wish I had those during my Adventure Races back in the early 2000 when we spent 4-7 days racing. They would have definitely have made a huge difference, not only during the race, but also afterwards, helping a faster recovery.

 I also took it for a Yoga session and thought they were brilliant. As in many opportunities you must hold a challenging pose for a long time and these tights offered great muscle support, especially during the standing poses.

 I would say that they are great for all purposes and I would recommend it to anyone looking at exercising for long periods of time, looking for a faster recovery or simply looking for more muscle support during a Yoga/ Pilates session.  I really enjoyed wearing it and think lots of people could benefit from it.
