Built for the pursuit. The North Face Steep Series gear is engineered for the unique demands of big-mountain skiing and riding. Athlete driven designs eliminate distraction and provide durability for long days in the mountains.
Watch The North Face team athletes Lucas Debari, Ralph Backstrom, Johnny Collinson, Kaitlyn Farrington, and Hilaree O’Neill put this gear to the test in expeditions to Mica, B.C. backcountry and the fjords of Greenland.
Inspired by one small, pixelated photo of an unknown peak in Greenland, The North Face snowboarder Lucas Debari made it his mission to plan the perfect expedition to this unidentified glacier. Mica to Greenland tells that story, following Lucas and Johnny as they shred powder in the backcountry of British Columbia in preparation for the trip of a lifetime. After sending pillows in Mica unlike anything they’d ever seen on the steepest, most sustained pitch, Lucas and Johnny join fellow teammates Hilaree O’Neill and Ralph Backstrom in Greenland in pursuit of the most epic peaks. And as the team discovers, when going to somewhere like Greenland, where you’re dealing with beautiful, aesthetic peaks, maybe the terrain is rideable, but maybe not.
