I am a 38 year old male and live in the wonderful Lake Hawea and work in Wanaka as a teacher. I have a wonderful wife – Cherie and 3 sons Oscar(born Oct 2009), Charlie (born December 2011) and Harry (October 2013) who are my key supporters in events that I compete in, and can often assist in sleep deprivation training They are now at the age where they are learning to rip up the trails on their bikes and get out on the water in the Kakaks, so the perfect age for them to be inspired in seeing some of the events and challenges I take on in their role as supporters and cheering squads!! I have been competing in Multisport, triathlon and other endurance based events for over 18 years now and love the challenges it brings and the people you meet. I have competed in almost all events that have been held in the South Island of New Zealand over the years with races like the Coast to Coast Longest Day(4x), , Challenge Wanaka Ironman Triathlon, Half Iron distance races and several 24hr adventure races, Individual & teams Goldrush (a now no-existing event) being some favourites and numerous marathons, kayak and bike races. One event on my list of races to put a tick beside is Godzone, this may be a tick in coming years…. I work as a teacher and enjoy empowering students with stories of adventures and motivating them to step into the world of outdoors and multisport as they grow. I am lucky to have the sponsorship support from the awesome team at Torpedo 7 and I live breath and embrace the ‘seeyououtthere’ values! – I am the one that will line up at any event with my mindset ready for a challenge and adventure combined and look forward to chatting and assisting any others in their pursuit of adventure and challenge!
