  • Why not have no floaty at all.....?
This is an extremely good product- however...
They have failed to mention that the floaty that comes with this mount does in fact NOT float when you have your camera locked in.
Everything else with this product is very good quality but I don't understand how they could make the floaty too small...?
The curved features of the float were very comfortable but unfortunately I've had to rip it off and replace with a Go PRO float as they actually help keep my camera afloat when I lose it.

Very big mistake by SP gadgets. You guys can do better..

  • Quality product, but perhaps not the most enjoyable way to film...
Good quality, strong, reasonably comfortable, easy to breathe through, no issues with water coming into your mouth, fits the Go-Pro perfectly, basically NO issues on a basic level.

Two complaints with the design though:

    1. The 'arm' with GoPro attached, puts the weight of the camera about 70mm or so away from your mouth. As you move around, this is enough leverage on your teeth and gums that you have to grip reasonably hard. Not THAT hard, but enough that it is kind of a bother, and you feel like just chucking it away half way through the surf, which would be fine on a small day, but when you've paddled for 10min to get out past 6ft beach break, you kinda wish you hadn't brought it with you.

    2. The positioning of the camera means it hangs down below your chin. So if you're a lazy paddler like me, and don't have the core strength to keep your head and chest up while paddling, then it bumps on the board and knocks the angle out of whack, or pulls on your teeth/gums.

To solve both these issues, I'd love to have the camera positioned right where the breather section is - for less leverage, and higher camera position.

The other minor gripe is common to all GoPro mounts - the small screw that holds it at the right angle is impossible to tighten with cold, wet hands, as you get no grip or leverage on the small finger-grip.
