Ezi-Grip E-Rack 2 Bike Rack

Tried a cheapie version but could see the qual was limited. Took it back and paid that much again to get the Ezigrip- totally worth it. The quality and tech is sooo much more reassuring with expensive bikes on-board.

I've used a roof rack for lightweight road bikes for years but a combination of a recent serious shoulder injury and my wife buying an alloy framed ebike meant I was on the lookout for a towbar mounted rack.

While not as expensive as some (e.g. Thule), with a RRP of almost $900 the Ezigrip E-Rack 2 is not a cheap bit of kit But when I opened the box I felt it was worth every cent; good design, quality materials and well constructed. And the money saved with the Torpedo7 $100-off sale price (thanks guys!) meant I didn't mind having to buy a new tow ball, as my old one was 1 7/8" and the rack requires 50mm.

It took me about 40 minutes to complete assembly of the rack, which included fixing the centre bracket in place and attaching the lights, fitting the rack onto the tow ball and securing the electrical wiring with cable ties, and (after sitting the two bikes onto the rack) moving the two ratchet straps for the longer bike out to the widest holes. I felt it would have been a little easier if some of the pictures in the manual had a few more words explaining what I was supposed to be doing, but it's not too hard to figure out.

I have to lower the seat on one of the bikes to avoid it rubbing against the handlebars of the other bike, but it takes literally 3 minutes to fix the rack to the tow ball and get both bikes secured in place. I did a quick drive around (just a couple of kms) and everything seemed to stay perfectly in place. I can't wait to give it the first real run with road trips planned over the next two weekends.

The tilt feature is great - means I can still get into the back of the SUV so don't have to put wet and/or dirty shoes, clothes, packs, etc in the cabin section of the car.

One thing that bugs me though (just a bit) is why the bracket for the supplementary number plate is so big. It's at least twice the width of the plate, and sticks out well past the sides of the rack in a folded position and seems to catch on everything if I leave it attac

When looking to buy a bike rack for our two new Black ATB E bikes we were initially looking at a more expensive brand. However after looking at many more reviews than what is here, YouTube videos and after contacting EziGrip directly we decided to purchase this rack.

We could not be happier with our purchase it has proved to be everything we wanted and carries both bikes that weigh 25Kg each and have 27.5" wheels brilliantly. When Traveling they sit solidly on the back of our car and are easy to get on and off.

I haver contacted the team at Ezigrip directly several times with basic beginner questions and they have been very very helpful and quick to answer the phone and reply to emails.

I highly recommend this product.

I have been using this for a couple of years now and have had no major issues with it. It is sturdy and secure and solidly made. However, there are a couple of areas where it could be improved. The grips that attach to the top bar of the bike take forever to loosen and tighten and could easily be replaced with an adjustable and lockable lever system, and also the straps that go through the wheels always seem to spring back over the wheel channels when loading the bikes and have to be pried out from under the tyres. These are minor issues and would still recommend this rack for any type of bike, but especially weighty Ebikes.

Have had our one for 22 months and the locking mechanism failed during transit, leading to a brand new e bike being dragged along the open road. Would not recommend.
