Rates and Fees

Interest Charges

Minimum monthly payments are required but you won't be charged interest if you pay off your purchase before the expiry of the interest free period. Prevailing interest rate applies to any outstanding balance on the expiry of the interest free period.

Establishment Fee

A one-off establishment fee of $55 is charged when you open your Purple Visa Card Account. You will see the establishment fee charge on your first statement. Establishment fee is not charged during a Deferred Payment Plan but will be charged if you have other Transactions on your account that are not related to a Deferred Payment Plan.

Annual Account Fee

A fee of $55 is charged at the anniversary of your Purple Visa Card account and is for maintaining the account for the previous 12 months. It is then charged each subsequent year the account remains open.

Each size option features the same weight-saving single pole integration system, 3000mm waterproof rating, 75D PU coated nylon floor, double doors and a vestibule to keep your gear out of the weather.

An optional footprint is available to prolong the life of your tent floor. Constructed from 70D Nylon Taffeta it protects your tents floor from abrasion damage and also works as an extra barrier in heavy rainfall. Not included.

Good in many aspects, but could be great

I used this tent over the summer for a few weeks when our campervan had to go in for repairs. Experienced it in hot sunshine, single digit cold nights, strong winds, and light rain. In general I was happy, particularly its performance in the wind, the spacious interior, and the ease of access with the twin door system. However, note the following drawbacks:

1) interior Pockets and storage are designed for occupants sleep head to toe. Just needs to add pockets all over and overhead so you can sleep whichever way you want
2) While this tent was one of the few on a big campsite that survived a very gusty night completely unscathed, it may help to have additional guy lines between the door zips and the corners should it be windy AND rainy as this is the only area where the outer and inner could conceivably touch, and have water pass through, from my experience
3) Not a big one, but it could do with an additional air vent at the very top of the tent rather than just the sides. I find this helps prevent excessive condensation although this wasn’t a big issue as mentioned and is somewhat unavoidable in any tent
4) This is the biggest drawback and the one that prevented me from giving it four stars - you can’t put the tent up in the rain without needing to put up the inner first, getting it wet. There are workarounds and perhaps if you buy the optional footprint this is easier to avoid, but in my experience the best tents allow you to keep the inner completely dry by being able to erect the outer first.

If you can buy this for under $200 I’d definitely recommend but you will need to practice workarounds (perhaps with the footprint) to make sure you can keep the inner dry while erecting the tent in a heavy downpour
