ordered wrong size too expencive to send back
Brought this for my 9 yr old son, Value for money and fits well.
I bought the helmet for single-track MTB, wanting more head coverage and less holes than typical helmets.
My initial impression wasn't great. The foam padding felt too soft and cheap. The segmented hard foam and the thin flexible outer shell didn't inspire confidence. It fitted well though, and felt comfortable. I have a size 57-58 head and ordered the medium size 54-58. It's a good snug fit, wouldn't want to be any smaller.
However after riding with it half a dozen times now, I'm pretty happy with it, and for $30 (on special) I think it's very good value. When I whack it with my hand while wearing it, it absorbs the impact pretty well, a lot better than my old non-segmented helmet, which was of a similar style.
I think the segmentation helps with ventilation. When I take it off after an hour's ride, my bandanna soaked with sweat, the soft foam still feels dry.
I'm still a bit concerned about the soft foam's durability; time will tell.
Shipping Policy
At Torpedo7 we aim to get your order to you as fast as possible, at a price that won’t break the bank. For NZ standard delivery orders, we use CourierPost delivery, – excluding rural delivery addresses & bulky products.
Orders received between 3:30pm Thursday and 3:30pm Friday will be dispatched on Friday but you may not see delivery of them until the following week. For orders received after 3pm on Friday and over the weekend your order will be processed for delivery and dispatched on Monday.
For some of our bulkier products we can’t use CourierPost and use a number of different providers depending on the product and your location. Due to the nature of these products please note that delivery can take a little longer and is typically 3-5 days from when we dispatch.
Click & Collect general orders when ordered before 3:30pm Monday-Thursday are generally available for store collection within 1-2 days. We will contact you by text, email or phone call when your order is ready to collect. Click & Collect general orders when ordered after 3:30pm or on weekends will be dispatched the next business day. Click & Collect bulky orders will take 3-5 business days. In all cases you will receive an email notification or call from the local Torpedo7 store once it is ready for collection.
