  • Thrashed and still going strong...
I ride... A LOT. Everyday. These have survived many races, including the Lake Hawea Epic, and have endured many a looooong training day. The dial is still in perfect working order. I also use these quite regularly on my spin bike. Fantastic shoe, will definitely be purchasing again when they finally give up... or smell bad!

  • Dial worn before you know it.
The shoe performs as it is meant to. There are downsides, but for the most part it strictly depends on riding style. And for my newly found hobby since starting under 10 months ago in trail style, has seen me wear the dial down that it no longer stays locked when required. It is more suited to the cross country addict and that would certainly boost the rating. The drawback of any mtb shoe sold in New Zealand does not compensate for hike a bike situation. These, are definitely not those.

Getting to the massive downside, I have had to shave the bottom of the shoes down by 5mm in order to utilise the mtb cleats to clip in and out. The effect, poor riding execution. The affect, having to clip out early prior to a stop and clipping in later once I've found a better opportunity. As you can tell, the shave hasn't quite helped. The shoe that requires more tred taken off, is the side where I have fractured my knee from countless falls at stops, one on concrete. I sound like a novice on bike, all this I have done before on my then withered road shoes mounted with mtb cleats but never to the increased difficulty as this.
