New bike season is always an exciting time of year. The latest features and developments are always hotly anticipated and the opportunity to get up close and personal with the new models before they hit the show floor is always an exciting prospect. With the launch of a number of new platforms for 2017 and some enthusiastic Trek fans among our crew, we were lucky enough to be hosted in Canberra recently for the release of the new range at Trek World 2017.
It’s hard to cover the whole show in one post so we’ve broken it down for your viewing pleasure. Here we’ll touch base on some general coverage from the show – to view more from the 2017 Trek MTB range click here; and to see more from the 2017 Road range click here.
2017 Trek Bikes are landing daily both in-store and online. If you like what you see get in touch now!
Above and below: Trek let their designers loose to come up with this radical concept for what they thought the bike of the future may look like. It remains to be seen how much will actually be realised but it is an interesting insight into where things may be going. What do you think – does this look like something you could see yourself riding on?
Below: In contrast to the 2026 concept, Trek haven’t forgotten where they came from with this steel tubed touring bike first released in 1976.
Below: In contrast, the future as it is now. E-bike popularity has been slowly gathering steam with large scale engineering and electronics manufacturers like Bosch now entering the market. Expect to see models like the one below in a Torpedo7 store near you soon!
Above: Turbo mode – now that sounds like some fun…
Above and below: The new Bontrager range of parts and accessories is comprehensive and with the new Unconditional Bontrager Guarantee, we’re sure you won’t be disappointed.
Above and below: The new Bontrager Drop Line Dropper Seatpost blends a hydraulic post with mechanical lever operation. With a clean trigger and mimicking the movement of a front derailleur shifter, we’re looking forward to seeing how these perform on the trail.
Below: Sticking with the trend that wider is better, the new Bontrager Line 40 offers exceptional value for those looking for carbon hoops with support for increasingly wide trail and plus sized tyres.
Above and below: Trek’s Project One system has also had a complete overhaul to help simplify the process for both consumers and retailers alike. With a baseline cost of $850 (NZ) for each level of upgrade you can own your very own custom built bicycle.
